You have a gaming laptop with solid specs—980mHz, 8GB VRAM, 4710MHz with turboboost, and 16GB RAM. Considering an Oculus VR headset, it depends on what you need most. If you prioritize immersion and performance, it could be a good fit. Otherwise, weigh your needs against the price and features of other options. Your call!

Execute the VR test on Steam—it will indicate whether your PC meets the requirements. Achieving a high score means it should work smoothly; right now, the Oculus Rift appears to be on sale.

I see it matches the current price. I acquired it when it launched, so my opinion might be a bit skewed. My top picks are Chronos, Oculus Medium (not a game), Audioshield, Superhot, Assetto Corsa, Elite Dangerous, Dirt Rally (definitely my favorite), Dead and Buried, Echo Arena, and I’m really impressed with Echo Arena. If you’re feeling bold, there’s an official mod for Alien Isolation now—looks promising. I’m planning to download it tonight, though I might regret it later. It seems to work well on VR setups with a 960 Desktop GPU, but there will be some adjustments needed for ASW/ATW.
