I've observed several stores offering their RAM at reduced rates compared to last month. Is the trend likely to keep going or could prices increase again?
Best regards, Chiyawa

For a secure choice now or next month, consider purchasing just before mainstream models shift from DDR4 to DDR5 (this applies only to DDR4 systems).

I've been waiting years for a standards update if you require memory, but you can get it right away. Given current global market conditions and supply chain challenges, a situation similar to what we're seeing with GPUs could happen, making memory availability a real concern.

It depends on whether you plan to purchase a new CPU with DDR5 support within the next 1-2 years. If so, buying DDR4 RAM now would be the least advantageous time. Additionally, if you need DDR4 RAM immediately or soon, it’s best to act quickly.

It hinges on how you define "best time." DDR5 is approaching quickly, so any DDR4 you purchase now won’t work with future upgrades. Are you comfortable with that? If yes, then now is likely the optimal moment to buy DDR4. However, if you need a RAM upgrade soon, this could be a less favorable period.

I’d hold off until Black Friday. Prices are falling. The CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 4000 I bought in August cost $280 now $250. I’m planning to upgrade to the 3600 version for my 5800x if it drops under $150.

@Mark Kaine @LAwLz @jones177 Thank you all for your feedback. Yeah, I haven't thought of DDR5. But I don't think I'll be getting one as of yet. I have look for a few shops and I saw that DDR4 RAM prices are dropping, though I'm not sure if it'll continue to drop or rise next week. In Malaysia, there's no Black Friday Sales. If I get it from Amazon, the shipping cost alone can get as high as the product itself. Now should I make a move... Or maybe I can wait until Christmas and see how things go... Anyway, it's not urgent, but I'm still thinking of getting a few so I don't have to worry if the DDR4 RAM goes extinct in next 3 or 4 years. But by that time, DDR4 RAM can be all time low in next 1 or 2 years where all the shops trying to sell off to stock up DDR5 RAM.
