Since then, it's become popular too—think of it as a special version like the Black Edition of AMD Ryzen 9 5950FX.
Their FX period was highly unfavorable, making it wise to move on and let it fade away. Connecting it to today’s offerings could damage their reputation. We already offer the X and XT alternatives if required.
AMD altered the "FX" and "Black Edition" lines to give the FX series and related APUs a more premium image, even though they weren't truly high-end. The term "FX" also refers to Nvidia's most problematic GPU generation.
It seems they’d prefer not to link their latest processors with the “FX” name, likely because of clear concerns.
They should avoid anything from the FX era (including FX/Black Edition/Bulldozer, etc.). Intel and AMD can opt for older names like Pentium or Athlon since those CPUs were generally viewed favorably, whereas FX doesn't carry that positive image. I’d suggest Black Edition is acceptable if they limited it to the Phenom period, but the FX line itself damaged its reputation for me.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Black Edition, but that thing better hit 5GHz in a respectable manner. FX tho... Dr. Lisa is disappoint.
When discussing "FX" for older Athlon 64 models, Ryzen is suitable since it uses Threadripper (AMD EPYC) for HEDT.
Transitioned to CPU designs, motherboard configurations, and memory systems.
They might release a "Rage edition" to align with the "Rage mode" on those high-end GPUs. However, I question that since they already offer Ryzen models, Ryzen variants, and similar options.
