I never bothered much for them. Sure, you can fall into a spot, but it actually helps you improve in certain areas. Plus, if you’ve been there before, you probably know how entertaining it can be.
It seems the aim is to boost self-esteem through victory, even though it's against low-ranked opponents and mostly in lower tiers, which isn't really about bragging. If I were a silver 3 and beat another silver 3, I'd feel good. But as a master guardian winning against silver 3s wouldn't make me feel that way. Honestly, we won, but it was against a weak team (no offense to silvers) while I was sitting at the top fragger with a 35-5 advantage. That's pretty unfair in my view. Some players just aim for higher ranks to start, which isn't ideal. I'm okay with smurfs if there are just a few on the team, but a whole squad of them is too weak to compete against when they're so much stronger. Smurfs can be annoying, but I don't let them ruin my game.
Not really, I don't usually see "rank" mentioned or any sign of a player's skill. What if the top player just began CS:GO two days ago and was very low-ranked, but performed exceptionally well? How could you judge someone higher ranked as better? What if an incredible player never participated in competitive games and won their first match by themselves?
For some reason it was hilarious, so I created another account. Until I reached my rank, I kept landing 40 bombs in nearly every match. Those were exciting moments, though—I’m sure I was being unreasonable with everyone else.
It's clear there are specific situations, but it would hurt me to spoil people's days.
