I received the Corsiar Vengeance rgb Pro DDR4 16GB (2-8GB) @ 3000mhz. I wonder if my motherboard requires XMP in BIOS to allow the RAM to be overclocked above 2133mhz? My motherboard is the MSI Z370 SLI PLUS, and I think it doesn't support XMP profiles. Also, can DDR4 RAM really be overclocked?

Your motherboard indeed includes XMP, though you won't necessarily require it for your specific needs. If asked, you'd need to adjust the overclock manually.

Occasionally for AMD the XMP is also referred to as DOCP. Check the BIOS for that information too.
