Just a quick update here... I decided to test ride my present system with Fortnite to get a feel for what I already had.
MOBO: ASUS Prime X570 Pro
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
GPU: SRhonyra Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5
PSU: Seasonic GM-550
Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 X2 for 32GB RAM
Sound: Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus Pure Edition SABRE32 Ultra-Class 32-bit/384kHz PCI-e Gaming Sound Card and DAC
Should I be shocked and pleased with 80fps? Everything seems to run fine.

I checked my system performance in Fortnite and noticed 50 to 60 fps at 1440p with ultra graphics enabled and RT disabled.

Late here but my
[email protected]
works perfectly with a 3060ti FE, handling all my games.
@1080
using max/near max settings and achieving smooth frame rates.
Upgrading the video card would be enough to finish this task.
The CPU sets the maximum frame rate, while the GPU controls the graphics limits.
If you don’t need top frame rates (I usually hit around 140fps in Rust with max settings), your R5 3600 should meet your needs.

Currently I only have the Windows 11 drivers installed for the GPU - SRhonyra Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5. It's a budget Chi-tech card that I acquired because it had the necessary connections to link several TVs. I've attempted to use the Radeon software from AMD, but it causes system video issues, making the experience unstable. Every time an update was applied, I had to tweak settings or reset things to restore normal operation.

Since I'm just starting out with games to spend more time with my son, is there a way in Windows to modify the video settings for gaming? Or would I need to install the full AMD suite to try different configurations?

I plan to upgrade to an RTX 3060 12GB card later, but maybe right now it's not urgent enough if I can experiment with what I have. I'm not too concerned about spending money. I'm surprised my PC from about 3-4 years ago is still running well, especially since I didn't build it for gaming. It's not a high-performance machine, but for an older person joining the gaming scene with my son, it seems fine. 😉

Your setup is comparable to yours.
Have you refreshed the BIOS and/or the system/motherboard drivers?
With the latest BIOS and updated chipset drivers from AMD, the X570 platform performs exceptionally well.
Confirm this is your specific board.
Update the BIOS and add Audio and Lan/ethernet drivers from Asus.
https://www.asus.com/motherboards-c...0-...E-X570-PRO
Motherboard chipset drivers.
https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads.../x570.html
Adhere strictly to the BIOS update steps.
Particularly if you use BitLocker. Ensure you have a backup of your encryption key.
Next, install the most recent drivers for your graphics card.
Experienced users with more Radeon video card knowledge can assist further.
