Is there any advantage or it doesn't matter here? The CPU is an i5 9400f. I’d consider Corsair RM850X 2021 if ATX3 isn’t a major concern. If it does matter, I’d choose Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 850W ATX v3.0. Any opinions on that?
Also, I’m not thinking about changing this GPU for a long time, so I’m only curious whether it works well with ATX3 since I won’t be upgrading much.

They don't necessarily need it, but an ATX 3.0 PSU satisfies the latest standards regarding power surges. The RM850X is fine too, and if you need PCIe 5.0 support, you can get a Type 4 12VHPWR cable from Corsair or other sources later. If prices match, I’d likely choose the Thermaltake. Or I’d go for the 2023 version of the RM850X.

In the situation you described, the advantages of the updated standard will be minimal beyond future technological advancements.

This setup prepares you for upcoming enhancements. Next generation, I believe AMD will adopt the 12v high power connector, similar to what Nvidia is doing.

Yuck. At least the 6800xt will still have a lot of life left, which is the card I also have. By the time the upgrade is needed again, they should have everything sorted.
