... i agree with what you said unless you do actually have a problem its just number crunching. My isp gives me 900mb to ont but cos i am wi-fi all devices only show 400 to 500 on speed tests.
I use a games rig , wife uses lap top , i sometimes use my spare rig at same time and also have a tablet and 2 smart phones on. Even though inside my home is half of what is being sent to me , i am nowhere near the 500 limit so dont have any problems ...
