Do you notice any minor audio lags and video stutters with ShadowPlay recently?
This just happened in one of my GRID 2019 videos I captured, but wasn't happening before. I'm wondering if there's a SP problem with the latest version of GeForce Experience. I might completely uninstall the 461.40 driver and GFE and see if reinstalling 461.40 fixes it. Seems to me this happened after GFE installed a new version on it's own when I opened it up a little while ago.
I'm aware that GE often runs multiple nvcontainers as seen in the task manager, but this seems to be a recent issue. Unless you confirm that nvcontainer became a resource problem recently, I don't think it's the main cause.
I just think Nvidia's drivers might be experiencing inconsistent quality control these days, maybe because of remote work during the pandemic.
Task priorities play a big role here, as even minor adjustments in the software you're using can lead to dropped frames or stutters. These changes might stem from updates in the drivers. Running a test with the highest priority is straightforward, but figuring out how a new driver affects performance is much more complex.
I tried your suggestion and adjusted the priority of all three nvcontainer.exe instances, but it didn’t help. Then I switched back to the 460.79 driver, which comes with GFE 3.20, rather than the updated 3.21, and now captures are working fine. So I suspect the issue is related to GFE 3.21, as expected. I also looked online and saw that others were facing problems with their captures using GFE 3.21. It wouldn’t be a big deal for me, especially during COVID, but GFE insists on installing the latest version when opening its GUI. Really frustrating.
