Do you need to restart your PC?
Hi, I've been having a problem for about a month. Every time I restart my computer, only one of the two ram sticks lights up, and the MOBO has an orange LED light on it. I checked each stick individually in single channels and swapped them around; one wouldn't work when just in one channel. So I asked for it to be replaced under warranty. I got the new sticks but still have the same problem when I plug them in. I've done the same tests again, but this time they worked fine on a single channel. Anyone know what should I fix now? I'm really frustrated about this. I've updated my BIOS to the latest version and tried turning memory context restore on or off, but nothing helped. Any advice would be super helpful 🙁 MOBO: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK GPU: Sapphire NITRO+ AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D PSU: Corsair RM850X 80Plus Gold RAM: Kingston FURY Beast EXPO DDR5 RGB RAM - 5600MHz (CL36) 32 GB x 2
MOBO: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK + I've updated my BIOS to the newest one. To make this useful, tell me which BIOS version you are currently using. Did you reset your CMOS after checking that the new BIOS was actually installed? Are your RAM sticks plugged into slots A2 and B2?
What happens when you turn off XMP and let the speed drop to 4800MT/s? Have you run a full MemTest86 test that lasts for several hours? Run it again just in case you change the RAM speed. Here is a link about MemTest86: https://www.memtest86.com/ Memory issues can be caused by bad RAM, a faulty DIMM slot, or a weak CPU IMC channel where pins are bent in the socket, or even a defective CPU and traces on the board. MemTest86 will show if there is a problem, but it won't always tell you what's causing it.
7D75v1N1(Beta version). Resetted CMOS as well. Yes Ram slots in A2 & B2
I turned off both EXPO and XMP settings. My computer runs at 4800 speed right now. The problem keeps happening even though I haven't checked memory with memtest yet. I will run a memtest later and tell you what it shows.
