Do you need to ask about Lenovo Legion 5 gurgles?
I don't know the exact word for my problem but whenever I use the laptop (whether playing games, doing normal work, or just browsing), things suddenly lag for 1 to 2 seconds. This makes the mouse move slowly and creates a stuttering sound. It feels exactly like when you are gaming and one frame drops out for an instant. This happens sometimes in one long session but other times nothing bad ever occurs. What is causing this? If I can give you more details or ask questions, please feel free to let me know. Thanks very much!
Hey, it sounds like something might be slowing things down for you. Do you know what temperature your CPU is hitting right now? Also, could you tell me exactly which model of laptop you have? There are several Lenovo Legion 5s out there and that's why I need to know the specific one. Thanks!
Have you ever cleaned inside your laptop? If it's full of dust or goo (which is common with gaming laptops), then maybe it's time to do that. When fans are dusty, they can't clear the heat from the chips. This makes them overheat and slow down. They will drop their speed limits to stay safe for a while. You can also check something like this: Re-pasting My Lenovo Legion 5 |Replacing Old Thermal Paste| - YouTube Re- pasting might help if overheating is causing problems, but it could lower temps too. When the CPU gets hot and slows down, it drops speeds from maybe 4.5GHz to 2.6GHz so it can cool better. This causes lag or stuttering.
Ah, okay. That could be a problem and a fix at the same time. Another thing to think about is if there was some damage to the motherboard or other parts. Sometimes this happens when it's just sitting still without being used much. But I don't remember turning anything on or off that would hurt the laptop.
I doubt there's damage, unless you have dropped it or given it a good shellacking. Doing 'general house duties' ( as in disassembling your laptop cleaning it. Taking out fans, cleaning them, and then re-applying new thermal paste to CPU/GPU. If it's not done regularly, your CPU may be throttling all of the time. Download Throttlestop, and install it. Then run the app. Open the limit reasons tab, and then run a 120m stress test on your CPU. If you see any red light flicking on and off, then it means your CPU is throttling. It could be from on PL1, PL2, or EDPOther. If it flashes red with these as reasons, you know there's something going on with the CPU.
