while pcie x16 5.0 isn't really necessary, 5.0 should suffice and many people have mentioned it several times. Some even say pcie x16 gen 4 is more than enough for modern GPUs. Eventually, pcie x16 5.0 will become essential, and getting the gen 5 x16 will be a better choice for longevity. I believe most x670e boards already use x16 gen 5, but the b650 models are a bit inconsistent, especially with the itx b650e.

True, it's still odd that the B650 is employing PCIe 4.0 for the primary X16 port.
However, it won't affect performance even if a 4090 is used.

After checking, the 7600X matches the price and offers a faster base clock compared to the gen5 7600, so changing your order might be worthwhile. Performance reviews indicate both chips deliver similar results.

What is your ultimate goal, and what are you aiming to improve upon later? If you're considering the 9000 series X3D or something similar, the 7600 is significantly simpler to cool and offers better value without much need for the 7600X.
