Do you need assistance with overclocking the AMD FX-8350?
Hi,
I recently attempted to overclock my AMD FX-8350. Here are the details:
Operating systems: Windows 7 and Windows 10
Motherboard: Gigabyte 990x gaming board
RAM: 24 GB
GPU: Asus GTX 1070
The main issue is with the voltage settings. I noticed on some YouTube videos people manually adjusted the voltage by typing numbers, like 1.4557v. But for me, it resets to auto when I enter a value, except when I press the spacebar. The strange part is that it shows +0... so what does that mean in volts?
I also checked if Gigaybyte Easytune could be a good choice.
And maybe I'm doing something wrong—haha! I'm new to this, so any advice would be really helpful!
Thanks for your help!
Is the numlock feature enabled in the BIOS settings? Check if your BIOS is current; if not, update it through q-flash within the BIOS interface directly. Avoid flashing on Windows!
Check if numlock is turned on in BIOS. Ensure your BIOS version is current; update it using q-flash inside BIOS directly. Avoid flashing in Windows! The latest version is available, but I prefer not to perform a q-flash on the BIOS as I worry it might stop functioning. Regarding numlock, I believe it's not enabled because I can adjust other settings by typing.
when numlock isn't turned on, the numpad functions like a pointer
if numlock isn´t turned on, the numpad functions as a cursor. The issue is that whenever I type a value, pressing enter instantly returns to auto. But using the spacebar lets me switch between numbers starting with 0+ or 0-. Now, when I want to add voltage, what should I input? I’m currently using +0025V.
I also ran a prime95 test for over 20 minutes and the maximum temperature reached was 81.6°C, with most readings in the high seventies. Right now I’m running a 4.3 GHz overclock.
Hope this gives some clarity, thanks for your help!
appears normal, as long as the CPU isn't throttling or causing freezing, you're all set
