Hello everyone! I'm currently using the audio technica ath m50x headset, but I don't feel it's loud enough when connected directly to my PC. I'm considering switching to a dac/amp combo and would appreciate any advice you might have.

There are several solid choices available. What is your budget, and do these earbuds cause discomfort after prolonged use? Schiit and Mayflower are both reliable brands. I’d recommend the Mayflower ARC 2. You can find more info at mayflowerelectronics.com.

They don't cause pain. The first step I took was adjusting the ear cups, which greatly improved comfort. The budget is around 200$.
