Good afternoon,
I am based in the UK and my mother is looking for a new laptop for Facebook and games. She usually gets one from Tesco with a Celeron processor and often complains about its speed. Do you have any suggestions on what to choose? I’m not sure about the price range, but I think it would help.
Kind regards.

Based on the needs and limited budget, any device with a Ryzen 3 or higher or an Intel i3 or better paired with a solid-state drive is acceptable.

"Always gets one from Tesco's". Always?? How often does you mum buy laptops - 2 or 3 times a year?
Here's one example from John Lewis:

This should keep your mum on the Facebook gaming circuit for the next 3 - 4 years. If she says it's too expensive then remind her that she won't have to replace it "2 or 3 times a year".
