So here’s the thing—I have a mild fear about certain sounds, especially from my devices like consoles, DVD players, and my PC. Even though it’s new and not too loud, those noises can really catch me off guard when I’m trying to focus. Gaming is fine because the game’s sound usually drowns out the PC noise, but everyday tasks like browsing or editing make it a real distraction.

I was wondering if anyone knows about good quality, noise-cancelling headphones that are wired and also comfortable. I’m also curious if they’re suitable for someone in the UK.

Unless you have a high level of noise interference, standard closed-back headphones should suffice to minimize sound, though this varies based on personal tolerance. The Cooler Master MH751 is a popular budget-friendly option offering good comfort and audio quality for around $80 or less. For enhanced sound isolation with slightly reduced comfort, the HyperX Cloud models are suitable. Both include a microphone.

Wired or wireless? Cost?
I own two headphones—one Bose with a wired connection and another wireless. I use them for gaming and work (remote work). They perform well for both purposes, but they’re a bit more expensive than comparable options available.

I enjoy the Sennheiser noise cancelling PXC lineup as my flying headphones. They sit on top of the ears.

I also rely on over-ear models. They offer greater comfort during extended use and better overall performance.

I’m searching for earbuds that are connected and fit comfortably, similar to what Kanewolf discussed. They should be a good fit since I often use my computer. Right now, my budget for headphones is £100, but I’d consider spending more if needed.

So I noticed the kind of headphones my family member uses (the ones I mentioned earlier). They’re the AKG K702. They’re currently listed at £83 on Scan, which really tempts me to buy them. But some websites say they are noise cancelling while others don’t mention it.

The K702’s do not feature noise cancellation, and their open back design doesn’t provide significant noise isolation. They’re decent headphones considering the price. During sales, Bose QC headphones often drop in value—check the site hotukdeals for better deals.
