I've heard they might harm the headphones if connectors shift, and I'm curious about others' experiences. If you're replacing your headphones, you might prefer using a USB connector since it works well with your gaming controllers and offers a much better connection than the 3.5mm type.

In general, headphones should not be harmed by moving the plugs and jacks on 3.5mm connectors.
I've used 3.5mm extensions frequently without any issues.
It's best not to use an extension whenever possible, but sometimes you might need it.

The 3.5mm extension doesn't offer any additional protection that the included cable provides.
