I enjoy Bvckup 2 because it's easy to understand, direct, and handles delta copying effectively.

I also reside in an area where vehicles rarely remain functional beyond two decades due to harsh local weather conditions most of the year. To protect electrical parts in a coastal setting, sealing them in closets with heating elements to maintain a steady temperature is effective. This approach is feasible, though it tends to be costly for individuals (it must be fire-resistant, so ordinary plastic storage may not be safe). Additionally, there are other considerations.
I have spent several years navigating the Linux environment, and if you manage to connect cables, use a closet, and install heating systems, then the software aspect comes into play. The challenge is usually avoiding leaving the backup computer active continuously (as this could expose it to malware or viruses).
In Linux, there are existing tools for:
- Activating a computer remotely via network (requires knowing the MAC address, which some consumer tests suggest may not be universally applicable)
- Using backup folders with rsync for version control
- SSH login from another machine, essential for executing shutdown commands (unless you manually perform it in a garage)
To replicate this in Windows (assuming a server setup), I regret to say I’m uncertain—this might not be possible without additional software.

I personally rely on Gs Richcopy360 and really appreciate it. It has always worked well and is very user-friendly and clear. However, Macruim Reflect seems to be quite essential in this context, making it hard to discuss anything else.
