Hi, I've been using a G502 Hero for about five years now. I really like the mouse, especially the scroll wheel, but it needs regular cleaning to keep working properly. The software is very customizable and powerful, though it can crash sometimes and require reinstalling. It’s comfortable to use and feels solid, but the switches have a big double-click problem. I’ve had issues with other Logitech products too—they often stop working after a short time, and I’ve had to return money when problems arose. For the past year, the double-click issue has become really annoying, and I can’t use it anymore. It started acting up just before the warranty ended, and even though I checked their support, they didn’t fix the switch problem. I’m tired of dealing with Logitech’s weak build quality and software, and I’m looking for a better alternative that matches the G502 Hero’s feel without the flaws.

Does anyone know a mouse that meets those standards? I’ve seen people recommend Razer products as a possible replacement, but I had some really bad experiences with them too—especially after they stopped covering warranty claims quickly. I take care of my devices and don’t drop them, but even normal use is wearing down the plastic over time.

TL;DR: Logitech is not worth it anymore—they’ve compromised on quality and software. I need a similar mouse that’s reliable and not from Logitech or Razer.

Logitech has a reputation for frequently breaking their own devices with each app update. I’ve stopped using them and now prefer Keychron’s M1 wired optical mouse. I won’t consider Razer again after nearly ten years, as they usually fail right before or after the warranty ends. You might be able to take apart the mouse and clean the scroll wheel. How much have you budgeted for your mouse purchase?

The mouse wheel is just a minor annoyance that requires cleaning, while my main issue is the faulty double-clicking switches. The budget is about 55$, but I’m willing to spend more if the mouse meets all the right criteria (ergonomic design, good software, a very smooth scroll wheel).
