Hi Experts, We have a Windows 11 computer that belongs to our company network. We turned on BitLocker for both C and D drives by using a Startup PIN. Recently because of some problems with the OS, we wiped out the system files and reinstalled Windows. Now, when I try to use my startup password, it says something is wrong. The drive isn't unlocked even though we didn't lose any data; after reinstalling Windows, BitLocker stayed locked on both drives. We don't have the recovery keys anymore because we deleted the computer from Active Directory and reconnected it with the same name. When I try to enter a password using the "reset" option in Active Directory, nothing happens. Also, when I run the command manage-bde password, it doesn't accept my PIN or the old one. Is there any way to unlock this partition since the machine is still part of our domain? We also tried setting up a new PIN but that didn't work either.

Nope, when you use BitLocker on a drive and forget the password, that's all that happens. It's supposed to handle that way, so it's pretty good at it. The only option left is to delete the hard drive and start over normally. If you still have access to the Microsoft account where the drive was linked and sent out the recovery key, then that key should be there. Otherwise, if you don't have access, just count the data as lost, which is what BitLocker does when things go wrong. Good Luck!
