Do you have to swap out your mainboard?
Hey everyone.
This morning I woke up and my system was acting up. It was still powered on, but there was no signal to the monitors, no power to the keyboard or mouse, and several fans seemed to have stopped working.
Naturally, I tried resetting it, but none of the buttons responded. I ended up turning off the power completely. After that, I restarted it and the same issues persisted.
The motherboard's RGB lights came on, the GPU fans started spinning, and the front case fans also began to rotate.
However, the back case fan and the three top fans from the water tank didn't spin at all.
I attempted a few fixes but ultimately removed the GPU and replaced the CMOS battery. I thought that would be the simplest solution if that was the cause. Surprisingly, it worked perfectly afterward.
But about two hours later, things changed again. My keyboard and mouse stopped receiving power (the lights went out), and everything froze on the screens. The fans kept spinning, but they didn't respond to any hardware buttons. I cut the power again, and the same outcome occurred as before.
This time, I performed a CMOS reset using a screwdriver to jump the pins. It worked well for a while, but I still needed to reset the CMOS again.
Now I'm wondering if my motherboard needs replacing. I haven't made any changes since December 2021 on this system, and the original build dates back to 2019. I've never experienced any problems before.
I’m curious—does this mean my motherboard is faulty? I haven’t noticed anything unusual since then.

Consider swapping out the motherboard if you're still under warranty; otherwise, it might be easier to return the board via RMA after contacting your seller or ASRock. You could also test your setup by breadboarding and see if that helps. It may also be useful to find a donor motherboard that works well and has the latest BIOS for testing and confirming your current one's issue.
