Do you have to manually overclock the RAM?
Hi, regarding your setup with a Ryzen 2700 on an x470 gaming plus, I'm checking if you need to manually adjust the RAM speeds or keep using the A-XMP profile.
You only need to overclock if there is clear evidence or support for it. Even then, simply being able to do so doesn’t guarantee you should proceed.
What outcomes are you hoping for? Are you aiming for better performance?
Consider that overclocking can bring minimal gains in system speed while adding more risks like higher power use and heat.
Make sure to consult the motherboard’s User Guide and all related documentation before proceeding.
Things might work temporarily, but eventually...
There are always compromises involved.
I understand that I won’t be overclocking anytime soon, though I might consider it later. It came up while watching YouTube videos; I noticed in AC Odyssey the CPU activates all threads only at 3.2 GHz, creating a big bottleneck for my 5700 (just 50% usage). Still, I won’t go overclock for that since I can play smoothly at 40 FPS. The main reason is just to explore more about computers and learn more.
