Hey, I just got an H55 and I'm finally getting the hang of how it functions.
I'm wondering if I can swap in a different fan, like a case fan. It seems the case fan probably won't circulate air as effectively, but that should be the case:

The desired fan requires high static pressure for a radiator. As shown below, the chosen model is slower, produces less static air pressure, and is much quieter. The original fans were made for the H55 and offer better performance, but they can be swapped for aesthetic reasons.

H55 Fans:
Dimensions: 120mm x 120mm x 25mm
Speed: 1700 RPM ±10%
Airflow: 57 CFM
Sound Pressure Level: 30.32 dBA
Static Pressure: 1.9mm/H20

FN 120RB:
Size: 120x120x25mm
Speed: 1300 RPM ±10%
Airflow: 47.27 CFM / 80 m³/h
Air Pressure: .95 mm H₂O
Noise Level: 25.35 dBA

yes you can swap in a similar-sized fan. . and it's also superior to the pre-attached option

The documentation mentions a stock fan with approximately 55 cfm, while the nzxt model provides around 47 cfm.

There is a fan requiring high static pressure for a rad system. As shown below, the desired model is slower, produces less static air pressure, and is much quieter. The original fans were made for the H55 and perform better, though they can be swapped for appearance.

the pre-attached fans on corsair cooler perform well. They outperform the case fans on the casings. If you wish to swap them, consider using corsair airflow fans instead.

For effective static air pressure fans, these options are recommended:
NF-F12 PWM (2,61 mm H2O)
http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=produ...g=en&set=1
SP120 PWM High Performance Edition (3.1 mm/H20)

The H100i fans outperform the SP120s; they aren't meant to be upgraded for style.
Stock H100i specifications:
Fan speed: 2700 RPM
Fan airflow: 77 CFM
Fan dBA: 37.68 dBA
Fan static pressure: 4mm/H20

SP120 fans:
62.74 CFM
Static Pressure: 3.1 mm/H20
Sound Level: 35 dBA
Speed: 2350 RPM

The 4mm pressure on the stock fans equals two fans combined... each at 2mm. Coming from someone who has four SP120s in push/pull on their h100i, the SP120s are significantly quieter (technical term, haha). And yes, they look much better too.

I concur with the NF-F12's assessment as one of the top options.
