Do you have problems with screen tearing or rubber banding?
Hey everyone, I'm facing some screen issues with my new Samsung Odyssey G7 monitor. I've been experiencing screen tearing and rubber banding, especially when playing games. I've tried changing resolutions, using adaptive sync on and off, adjusting FPS and monitor refresh rate, but everything caps. The monitor's hardware is still the same—same issue every time. I've even swapped out the graphics card and RAM, but nothing helps. It's really confusing. I've noticed these problems a while back too and thought maybe the monitor was struggling. My specs are: Gigabyte Aorus Z390 motherboard, i7-8700K (not overclocked), GTX 1080 (not overclocked), 32GB G-Skill TriCentre RGB RAM, 500GB Samsung NVMe SSD, and a 1TB Samsung NVMe SSD. I'm using Corsair H110 water cooler and the RAM is running at 3600MHz with XMP enabled. I'm on Windows 10 and everything is updated. Could it be something with my CPU or motherboard? Thanks for any help!
Have you turned on variable refresh on the screen and adjusted it in Nvidia settings?
Are you using a DisplayPort connection?
Which monitor are we discussing?
What FPS limit were you applying?
Which games did you try? Were they played online or offline?
I was using a 24 inch lg ultragear 144hz monitor.
Freesync was enabled, causing occasional blurring lines in the center of the screen during two different games. The same issue occurred, and stuttering was present. After turning on VSync it improved somewhat, but the problem persisted.
I connected to a display port setup at 1080p and 144hz.
I also purchased a Samsung Odyssey G7 at 144hz with adaptive sync enabled. The same problems appeared. Both my GPU and CPU are set to high performance in the control panel, with no spikes detected in the task manager. The GPU usage stays around 97% during games, while the CPU usage is about 45%.
I completed all the steps. I turned it on, off, and back on the monitor. I set it to default and even reinstalled Windows. Restarted the router and cleared RAM. Fixed the graphics card. The frame rate stayed low, around 1440p in games, with stuttering every six seconds. It mainly happens when I move a lot in the game, especially near the center of the screen.
