Do you have any suggestions for improving your gaming performance?
Hello,
I was wondering if some of y'all had some tips on getting better performance in games? They run fairly well as is just defaulting to ultra settings but I think some room for improvement is open.
Specs:
Mobo - Asus Strix Z690A
Ram - G.Skill Ripjaws V 64GB
CPU - Intel i7 12700K
GPU - MSI 3080 TI
Storage - 2 Samsung M.2 (one 500GB for OS, one 1TB for apps)
PSU - Corsair 1,000W Gold
Cooler - Lian Li 360
Choose a monitor that isn't a 4K display or TV, and it will function properly. If you're using a 4K monitor, adjust your settings to High rather than Ultra.
What results are you achieving currently? Which outcome are you aiming for? Are you only adjusting system settings or ready to make improvements?
Aiming for around 120-140FPS ultra on COD.
60-120 FPS in Starfield on ultra setting.
300+ FPS in LoL, CSGO, and SWBF2.
Looking to check if system tweaks, game settings, or overclocking are necessary.
Seeking ways to maintain at least 144+ FPS across all games while pushing high-ultra performance.
Assuming everything is functioning properly, interacting with the OS settings in a way that demands admin rights isn't advised. This approach doesn't significantly boost performance and might lead to mysterious problems later. You might consider adjusting your graphics card settings using MSI Afterburner through undervolting or overclocking. However, modern cards often self-optimize to their maximum capacity. In practice, you could see a slight improvement—perhaps 2 to 3 percentage points—in benchmark results. Overclocking the CPU is unlikely to make much difference since it can already handle around 120 FPS in most scenarios. Driver updates may offer some benefit, but they usually only apply to specific games and rarely improve performance across the board, especially for NVIDIA or AMD systems.
Nothing is broken or requires fixing except the belief that everything must be extremely optimized for a game like Starfield!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Starfield performs poorly on many PCs, and SWBF2 is similarly not well optimized, mostly using just a few processor cores.
Not sure what you're aiming for.
Make sure to locate and eliminate FPS robbing bloatware from your system. The fewer tasks your CPU and memory handle for unnecessary programs, the better.
If Starfield is the focus, performance drops significantly on NVIDIA and/or Intel devices:

This suggests the issue might be tied to sponsorship agreements. It raises questions about possible exclusivity terms.
