never encountered such items before. they’re from an old prototype laptop in my collection. curious if others have similar sets or know their worth? they look so charming because they imitate their desktop versions. (note: i had standard DDR3 in the machine, these were added to boost capacity (this package is just 4gb total) and to preserve them) small edit June 1, 2024 by gameboy3800 details

I don't have access to specific details about that item. Could you provide more information or clarify what you're referring to?

They didn't include the laptop. These items might be extremely uncommon—possibly exclusive models or even early prototypes that ended up in circulation.

From the part number they reused, it seems this kit is likely the Corsair XMS3, possibly a unique version.

It makes sense that only about twelve of these concept machines were ever built. Their worth remains uncertain, but they could still hold significant interest for history or future applications.

For these items specifically, I had no clear answer. The specialty DDR3 market is quite limited among PC enthusiasts, though I suspect a suitable buyer would be willing to pay a fair amount.

A reasonable price depends on the item's rarity and condition. For rare collectibles like those you mentioned, $10 might be too low, $100 could be fair, and $1000 would likely be considered high. If it’s just 10% of a common item, like McDonald’s McNuggets, it should match their typical value.
