Do you have any ideas on how to fix the sparkling pixels or dots issue?
This problem has been a persistent issue for me over a long period. I experience these unusual dots or pixels that shimmer, almost like sparkles, appearing on certain surfaces in Witcher 3. It mainly occurs around shiny areas such as armor edges, sword tips, and texture details that look like they're glowing. This effect can be reduced using DSR, but it still shows up on wet surfaces and blood textures, making it hard to capture clearly in screenshots since it's only visible in motion. I've shared a video on YouTube and received another link from someone else facing the same problem. I've tested three different GPUs—970, 980, and now 1070—and changed the motherboard and CPU. It seems hardware isn't the cause, likely related to how the game renders graphics. I have a few questions: 1) Is this the intended visual effect? I'm unsure, but I think it might be. 2) Have you seen this issue while playing the game? 3) Are there any solutions or workarounds? Please note that my video runs at 4K resolution with DSR enabled, so the shimmering on armor and swords is mostly minimized, though you can still spot glowing pixels in blood textures on the ground. [media] The second video I posted is from another player, so I'm not alone in noticing this. [media] There are similar cases on other games too—like Rise of the Tomb Raider on wet shiny surfaces, snow textures, and to some extent in AC: Unity, but Witcher 3 is the most bothersome.
I've had no success, I've tried SSO, nothing changed. The only relief comes from DSR, though it doesn't fully eliminate those distracting shimmering pixels on wet surfaces like the ones you see in Witcher and Drowners. It's really frustrating with no clear fix in sight—it feels like nobody else is complaining about this either. Hopefully, something will change in future titles to make them less noticeable.
