Do you have any idea about a reliable sound recorder for your PC?
I previously used a PC sound recorder named Free Sound Recorder. It performed exceptionally well. The interface was neither too large nor too small. It wasn't as complicated as Audacity. Loading took no time and didn't slow down the computer. When you press record, you can hold the record button before pressing it, which gives a more accurate chance to capture the desired sound at that spot. Recording actually performed quite well in the intended location, unlike some other programs that often miss the mark. Another advantage is the ability to enhance audio quality before recording, thanks to a built-in boost option. Lastly, this software was completely free.
I'm unable to use this on my new computer. If anyone has tips on getting it to function properly with my system, please share. I'd prefer this over other less reliable recording programs.
In the meantime, since I can't get this working on my new machine, I'm looking for an alternative. I've tried many others—none of them match the quality or features of this one. If you recommend any, consider whether they meet all the qualities I mentioned, especially compatibility with Windows 11.
It isn't possible to use the previous version. You haven't attempted to install it as an administrator, nor have you tried running it in administrator mode or compatibility settings. Windows 11 is brand new, and most programs aren't yet updated for it, making it unlikely you'll find a recorder that matches your needs exactly.
I previously used DBase III, which functioned well but didn't work on newer PCs, so I searched for alternatives that did, and I adapted accordingly. I recommend doing the same.
Audacity is straightforward, simple to use, and offers a great learning experience while helping your growth.
Audacity remains the top free choice; maybe you could take a short time to learn what you need. Initially, you don’t need to fret about when to press the Record button. Just press it and once finished, move your cursor to the desired start point, click Select, then choose Region, Track Start to Cursor. This marks the unwanted area before your recording begins and deletes it. The same applies to removing excess at the end. For the boost feature, simply select all your recording, click Effect, Normalize and your file gets enhanced. It’s that easy and only requires a few attempts to grasp the desired effects.
