So the truth is, I removed the product key from my laptop's operating system, hoping maybe it would still work, but now I'm regretting it. I need to try it on my new PC build and get rid of my old laptop. I'm really good with hardware, but software and OS compatibility aren't my strong points. Any advice would be appreciated!

It could work for another attempt, though I’d prefer to purchase a key from G2A—they’re available very cheaply there.

I didn’t expect G2A to sell anything besides games, but I’ll give it a shot with my current key. I’m hoping it’s something you can use again. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll probably buy another one from G2A anyway.

Ensure compatibility by selecting the appropriate ISO or disk version. Using the correct English 8 Pro disc will typically resolve issues with mismatched keys.

I believe you should contact Microsoft and inform them. They will reset the issue and allow you to use it again. That’s what I’ve understood from what I read.
