I have already pushed out the date when I want to finish this project. Spring and summer will arrive soon, bringing new information my way. Electricity needs attention with a dedicated 30-amp breaker just for now. Surge suppression is also needed, along with outlets at every musician's location, no extension cords or power strips. I need to upgrade my data switches too; not much brain surgery here, but like my home theater project where I started off with four 20A services and went from there... This is exciting! I'm glad you guys are part of this great group. It will be fun to watch it grow, so maybe I should get out a pad and pencil ✏️ Lol

Using a USB cable for your monitor means you should avoid connecting anything else "right now" on that cable. For instance, don't plug in a microphone; audio needs real-time data, though some buffering can trick people into thinking it works when it's actually slow. Every computer has a main root hub built-in, or sometimes one comes with a special PCIe card for extra ports. That main hub usually has lots of ports, but they act like an extension cord on the power line: you can't plug in 20 devices at once because they all need to share the limited power. Not every port on your motherboard is its own hub; often several are grouped together under one big hub. I think a USB monitor is worse than an HDMI connection, which is better yet than a DisplayPort (though they're pretty close). Most of the time, you can find more ports that all share just one main hub. You usually use a USB display because it's easier to grab, like when using a docking station for a mobile phone. However, I never explained how you are supposed to transfer things from your device back to that monitor. That detail might be important later on.

Hey, I don't know all those details yet but I understand what you're talking about. Could someone else share their thoughts on this worry? Thanks so much for bringing up this important topic!

You are okay. The little USB-C plug that acts like both Thunderbolt and DisplayPort on the Mini is actually a good thing too. Just relax. You can find more info here: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-mini...fbbb97/mac

I have to ask, will I be sending my main display signal from the USB-C on the front of the Mac or the Thunderbolt on the back? Both of these need adapters or special cables with appropriate connectors. Great link btw 👍🏽 There are breakout cables for both…. Or am i not understanding the difference between the two ports, or their similarities Possible cable: https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-...2l...FyY2hfYXRm&psc=1

You might use that one wire, plug it in at the ends of the cables to make sure everything is neat.

I give it four stars only if the chair is comfy enough to sit on all day without complaining. You really don't need a fancy chair unless you want one.

I totally get it. Something that feels like it belongs to both people and the floor is worth talking about. If you feel too hot or stiff to sit on your computer, nothing else matters.
