Do you have a Core i7-6700k processor for your Windows 11 computer?
hey everyone so i already know that the Core i7-6700k doesn't work with Windows 11, but do you have a way to upgrade without any problems? second question is , is it worth it because it isn't supported , would i get performance issues, lag, etc and those kind of problems? thanks in advance windows 10 i7 6700k ram 16 gb gtx 970
Windows 11 will work well on your computer. You can find lots of steps and guides online from Google and YouTube to help install it properly. While Windows 10 is still a solid choice, you are able to move up to Windows 11 if you take the time to look into it carefully.
I have both versions, but they are almost the same thing. I see Windows 11 like a slightly different skin over Windows 10. Windows 10 won't get full support until October of 2025. Just leave them as they are right now. Win 11 on whatever new computer you make later on.
so when looking at something like a new skin, new theme, and better performance, is that actually a good deal compared to just sticking with Windows 10? Thanks for the advice! My guy.
Yes, and no. I've had Win 11 running on my i7-6700, but that doesn't mean it will always work - because it's not a supported processor. What you don't want to happen is for Win 11 to run for a year, then Microsoft makes a tiny change that kills support on your 6700 completely. Then you'll be stuck with no options left. I'm planning to build a new rig in the second half of 2024 or the first half of 2025.
