I built a custom setup using my HP Omen 880 and repurposed its parts. The motherboard was meant for another PC build, so I needed to adapt it. I wanted to install a new CPU and RAM in the case, but discovered the I/O shield is built into the chassis. I considered drilling holes to create room for a fresh motherboard’s rear ports, but realized that would require modifying the case itself. I’m exploring options for B550 or B450 slots, keeping an open mind to other AMD or Intel models with similar layouts. Looking for someone who might have a compatible motherboard with comparable port placement.

Hey, did you spot any board that works? If not, you might want to consider cutting out the IO Shield. I’d be happy to hear your thoughts on that. Also, you mentioned planning a new motherboard and CPU for your 880 case—since the IO Shield is the only component between them, it’s important to approach it carefully.
