Do monitors lose signal during gameplay or launch?
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
I plan to use DDU. I’ll run the app in Safe Mode to remove all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia), then reboot to the OS GUI and install the newest GPU drivers manually via an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
I’m not entirely sure, but 1250W seems sufficient for my system and components, so I don’t think it’s a PSU issue.
Because of frequent spikes from the RTX3080 and similar cards, people suggest overprovisioning your PSU’s capacity beyond what you have. This isn’t a PSU problem if you’re okay with that wattage.
If you want to be sure, try getting a similar, well-built PSU and see if it causes the same issue.
I haven’t attempted a BIOS update yet since I heard it could damage your PC if done incorrectly, but I’ve heard it might help.
I’d like to check if a BIOS update makes a difference.
Thank you for your prompt response. I wanted to note that during my clean driver install, I used a DDU and ran the process in safe mode. I’m uncertain about the exact OS GUI but confirmed the clean installation option was available. Since you mentioned the BIOS update could help, I’ll try it later today and update you on the results. Also, I wasn’t aware of the high transient load spikes in the RTX3000 series—this seems concerning. I’m unsure how to test a different PSU, so if the BIOS update doesn’t resolve the issue, it might just mean I need to purchase a new power supply.
Operating System Graphical User Interface is what you see when using the OS after starting it.
Reset the CMOS once you confirm the BIOS has been updated to the newest release.
Solving problems involves narrowing down possibilities until you identify the main cause.
If you purchased a component to fix your system, you might end up with no money left and still need many more parts.
Therefore, borrow rather than buy.
If you can't find replacement parts, reach out to Skytech if you're still under warranty.
Otherwise, visit a nearby repair shop that stocks test components to diagnose the problem.
2 Sticks 16GB DDR4 RAM (unknown brand)
You may need to examine a picture of the RAM sticks or at least note their specifications and share it.
How is the processor being cooled?
I’ll look for a guide on updating the BIOS and clearing the CMOS. Skytech’s support isn’t available on weekends, along with most local repair shops, so I expect it will take a few days before I can handle this. I’ll try to locate my exact build on their website to confirm the RAM specifications, but I’ll have to do that later today. My processor is watercooled—I’m roughly 90% certain of that.
I have made the BIOS update and cleared CMOS, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I searched for the exact RAM I received and found only information about the brand XPG. I’ll send a picture from inside the computer if that would assist. Edit: I’m unsure how to send a picture on this platform (they require a URL). Just tried removing the secondary monitor in hopes of a temporary fix, but it didn’t work.
I updated my first post with the correct RAM.
