Hi all,
The upcoming build includes a Ryzen 7 7700 and an RX 6800 XT, with plans to upgrade to either an RX 7900 XT or a 5070 Ti. It’s intended for running Euro Truck Simulator 2 in native 4K at around 60 FPS. I’m wondering if my 32GB of RAM should be 6000MHz or if 5600MHz would suffice.
Thank you!

Most DDR5 systems perform best around 6000MHz with minimal delays, no matter if they're from AMD or Intel.

Higher speed comes with increased delay, reducing the actual performance gain. Without a real-world test, it's hard to detect.

Purchase a RAM kit that matches the specifications listed for your processor or is endorsed by the RAM vendor’s support app. For Ryzen models, which are sensitive to RAM, issues are common. A 6000 speed RAM typically comes with a 36-pin case and costs between $85 and $90 at G.skil or Corsair. Avoid complicated heat spreaders as they are mainly marketing claims. Opt for a lower profile RAM to prevent clearance problems with air coolers. At the same speed, slower timings perform better but cost more. It’s unlikely you’ll notice a difference without a synthetic benchmark.

6000 CL30 falls in the range of $85-100 at the lower end, which isn't a major cost barrier. EXPO certified memory tends to be priced slightly higher due to its popularity, reaching around $95 and more.
Even 6000 CL28 costs just $125 for two 16 GB modules, which doesn't seem worthwhile, but it's worth $10 for thirty from 36.
