Do I require a CPU cooler upgrade?
Do I require a CPU cooler upgrade?
For context my specs are,
i7-6700
GTX1070
16GB ram
So in demanding games like RDR2 and more recently cyberpunk, my gpu usage is always at 100% but my cpu is at 30-60% utilization and 80-90°C . And it's a prebuild pc with the blue bios menu so I can't change cpu fan curves and all that
I'm assuming here that this is a gpu bottleneck? I can get better performance only by getting a new gpu since cpu is not being fully utilized? But at the same time, the cpu temps are already very high so I am very confused. I don't know a lot about pc hardware so figured I'll come and ask some smart people here.
Which prebuilt is it? The make and model number are provided.
Hp envy 750-175se came with a gtx970 already installed, but I later discovered the gtx1070 was available at a lower cost.
I couldn't locate a straightforward upgrade option, but I did come across a post mentioning that Asetek produced many of HP's watercoolers. If you reach out to them, they may be able to guide you toward a suitable watercooled upgrade.
You're thinking about purchasing the newer Hyper 212 and wondering if the changes you mentioned will affect its performance.
It is definitely necessary to obtain a fresh CPU cooler along with fresh thermal paste. This could potentially lead to improved frame rates and enhanced CPU efficiency, while elevated temperatures might cause the CPU to throttle performance.
