They produce compact 1080p displays. As newer titles appear, the required processor power increases. A single 1080p at 60fps with an i7-2600 would handle most recent games and apps smoothly.

In many games you'll see a performance limit with a newer GPU at 768, but switching to 1080 reduces that issue. Choosing a model like 3770 or 2600, as mentioned by @Fasauceome, offers a solid improvement. Upgrading to something like the 1660 Super provides an even better boost.
