Hi. For a while now, I've had to hold down both the FN (function) and the Windows key together to open the Start Menu. But is there a way just to press the Windows key alone instead? I looked at some articles that mentioned a lock symbol on certain keyboards but my keyboard doesn't have it.

Have you tried resetting the keyboard back to default? Go to Device Manager and click Keyboards. Pick out the one that needs fixing. Click the red X to uninstall it. Choose Scan for hardware changes. Then pick your keyboard again, and hit Update device driver. Let the new drivers finish installing. Restart your computer.

There are four gadgets shown up in the Device Manager, including three types of Keyboards (one is an HID Keyboard and another one is a standard PS/2 Keyboard).

It's no different. Still need the FN key to get to the start menu.

Hold down the Fn key and then press F6, then check if the Windows key works normally again.
