Yeah, whenever I get a new mod or game download, I usually put it in its own folder. This keeps everything organized. Sometimes you find sites where people share these mods for free on their personal pages. Most of the time though, those links won't work through Tom's site because they aren't approved there.
I know about a few things, though most of them I do not trust because they could cause malware. Talking about stuff that is against the rules, on some days I see a lot more spam and ads in these forums here. The people who break these rules make me really angry, because all I'm trying to do is keep an eye out on the forum and help others as much as I can (and unfortunately, my skill isn't very good since I have never had many serious issues happen so I lack experience) but still, I get spammed with ads every single day.
With Steam, EA Play, Epic Game Store, and GOG, I can copy the games however I want. They don't track how many copies there are, and unless a game comes with old DRM attached, there is no limit on how many machines they can run on. At least, I haven't found any game that has this limitation yet (because it hurts reputation if people find out). Restoring games is easy: just put them in the client's library folder and click install. Usually, the system checks to make sure everything is there, updates anything needed, and you're done. Steam makes this super fast, but I found it takes more work than just letting Steam see where the files are. Anyway, if these things are just games we're backing up, unless you have a really slow internet or a data limit, I don't think it's worth it anymore. There isn't any major company with fire in their eyes right now. But if you care about your save files and other stuff and the client doesn't have cloud storage to sync with, then yes, back those up most of them go into your user folder, either in Documents, Saved Games, or AppData.
I think Jedi Survivor uses Denuvo, and folks say this makes things run slow.
That's just one thing, though it doesn't stop how many times you can install the app.
It turns out that Denuvo has a feature named Anti-Tamper, but it stops you from using more than five times every single day, based on what I found online.
I tried putting my head in two games that said they had too many copies, both on Steam. The first one was Crysis and it told me I hit the limit at fifty. Then there was Mirrors Edge which also said the same thing about fifty installs. When I talked to Steam support, they always made me contact Epic for help instead. I never went back to play Mirrors Edge, but I did buy a copy of Crysis on GOG while it was on sale. Even though those two games had trouble at some point, nothing ever came up again since then.
