I just received an i7 4790k and a Z97 motherboard for Christmas and was thinking about whether I should upgrade my 550W power supply.

Corsair 550w had a bronze certificate, and my GPU is an MSI Radeon 7590 with 3gb RAM, not overclocked. I also have two monitors.

Bubbleman95 :
I recall the Corsair 550w had a bronze certificate, and my GPU is an MSI Radeon 7590 with 3gb RAM, not overclocked. I also have two monitors. Just checking. That one is fine. There are other models where I would have suggested changing it, even without hardware upgrades.

The CPU and board upgrades won't significantly alter the power needs.

I can handle a replacement if needed, but for now it should suffice. I plan to stream games and occasionally record nothing during intense sessions.
