I purchased a Dell XPS 8900 last year and upgraded the GPU to enable VR gaming. Although the stock tower isn't specifically built for gaming, it provides decent airflow. Should I upgrade the stock heatsink now that I've installed a more demanding video card?
My current setup includes:
Intel Core i7-6700 Skylake @ 3.4GHz*
16GB DDR4 RAM*
Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming
1TB HDD*
Corsair CX750M 750W PSU
*stock components

It seems like the setup is working well. According to the manual, most tower coolers behave similarly. The one included with your PC is adequate.

Unless it's getting too hot, I'd let it be. It might be using a special mount, but I'm not sure. Which model are you asking about?
