Basic inquiry, just checking if 16GB RAM is a good investment. I often feel anxious about running multiple apps, especially during streaming. My current RAM hasn’t hit 90% yet, so I’m unsure if 16GB is necessary. I tend to close background processes and avoid services like Spotify. Even with those open, my RAM stays below 95-100%. It’s unclear how this affects performance since my CPU stays at full capacity while gaming. Also, I wanted to mention a few points: I currently have 8GB (4x2) at 2666MHz, dual channel, and the model I’m considering offers 3200MHz with 16GB (8x2). What do you think?

The issue involves fractional values with RAM sizes. The range from 8 to 16 is relevant here. It’s important to note that adding one more than 8 results in 9, not 16. The correct progression is moving up by one unit from 8.

Varies with your needs, 8 works just enough to handle about 3-5 Chrome tabs, a game, and streaming at once. It’s the minimum safe setting on Windows 10 for multitasking. 16 offers a balanced middle point, letting you run many background tasks smoothly with minimal concern—unless a game demands more memory or your activity needs specific resources. I’d suggest 16 for extra peace of mind and extra capacity.

Your system has a 32GB storage capacity. You’ve reached up to 64GB, but RAM usage stays around 32GB most of the time—usually just a little each month or so.
