Hello,

In Windows 11 Pro under Device Security, there’s a problem where the green tick for the Security Processor keeps disappearing and reappearing every few minutes. This behavior is unusual. Should it remain visible continuously without vanishing? When it shows up, I click on it, then open Security Processor Troubleshooting, which displays an error 80090016: “Device health attestation isn't supported on this device. Clearing your TPM might help enable it.”

My system details are:
- MSi A520M-A PRO Motherboard (with the latest BIOS UEFI version)
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Processor

Questions:
Does my PC meet the minimum TPM version 2.0 requirement for running Windows 11? It seems to work without issues except for this TPM problem, so it’s likely my system supports it. However, if that’s the case, why is the TPM issue flagged as unsupported?

I plan to use BitLocker, but if this problem continues, could BitLocker cause issues when I try to encrypt my drive? I don’t want to be locked out of my PC because of an intermittent TPM problem.

Should I resolve this TPM issue directly in Windows or via the BIOS UEFI? If I clear the TPM in Windows, am I at risk of losing access to my PC or my data? Or is this a common issue with this motherboard or the operating system where I can’t fix it until an update is released?

Best regards.

The information about "Device Health Attestation" is intended for a business setting. It doesn't require use on a personal computer. Refer to the provided links for details.

Microsoft has recently released Windows 11, and one of its system prerequisites is TPM 2.0. Consequently, numerous inquiries have emerged such as “does my PC support TPM 2.0?” or “is a separate TPM 2.0 chip required for installing Windows 11?”

Hello, just to ensure you're all set, I'll confirm that using BitLocker on a private PC should work without any problems.

Based on the links shared, you should be able to follow the instructions. However, ensure that any information stored on your drive is backed up elsewhere.

Hi coming back, I did some research on google and come to this:
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioK8AWuQCyM
YouTube saying its a known bug with AMD & Windows 11. Plus Bitlocker may have problems due to attestation not working. My options are:
- Clear the TPM via Windows
- Clear the TPM within the Bios Uefi
- Do nothing and wait for the patch for the bug
Which is safer, clearing the TPM via windows or within the Bios Uefi itself?
Or is best to do nothing and wait for the patch to be on the safe side?
Thanks,

Any of them will likely work, but the question is whether or not your data is safe. i.e., will this require you to reinstall the OS or something?
If it were me, I'd do what you listed in order, after having all the important data I want on the drive backed up.

Yes, it is the same process whether using Windows or accessing the BIOS UEFI settings.
