Do games stop working when you press the alt key?
Uncertain about locating "pagefile.sys," but I have two SSDs and one M.2 drive, with the OS installed on them. My non-paged pool size is 584MB, while the paged pool is around 494MB.
the paged and non paged figures seem appropriate.
the pagefile.sys represents the windows virtual memory.
search online for instructions on adjusting the windows pagefile size
you might also try using a utility such as crystaldiskinfo.exe to examine the drive's smart data, verify firmware versions, and determine if an update is necessary.
sometimes outdated firmware causes the pagefile to contain many errors and prevents trim functions from working effectively. (the solution is to update the firmware or boot into bios and keep the machine running for a few hours to allow the ssd firmware to clean up internally.)
alternatively, you can download microsoft rammap64.exe, locate the empty menu entry, select each option, and restart.
you may also look up methods to instruct windows to delete pagefile.sys upon reboot and make registry adjustments, then restart. (this approach resolves certain issues related to malware and can help improve ssd trim performance.) i would consider removing the registry change once the underlying system problem is resolved.
can your game operate in windowed mode? this can often simplify task switching. full screen mode tends to be slower.
It's using an SSD. I've downloaded both crystaldiskinfo.exe and rammap64.exe. I verified the firmware with crystaldiskinfo.exe and all drives are current and cleared the items. The game that first showed the issue is now running smoothly even with many open tabs. I'll test it with other games to see if the problem continues.
I thought I had replied, but it said it passed. So I assume it's my processor.
