Do any new laptops feature a bottom access panel?
Hi All
I’m looking for something a bit more traditional, but still need to work with RAM and SSD often. Are there any new laptops available that have classic designs? I want a model with an accessible bottom panel that can be taken off easily using just a few screws, without dealing with plastic clips. Removing the whole bottom every time would be annoying.
A strong keyboard that stays straight while typing is a big plus—I usually don’t need it, but once I had to disable it because the cursor kept moving around.
If it’s thicker or heavier than usual, I’m fine with that.
Workstation class laptops tend to be easier to use. Models such as Dell's Precision Mobile Workstations are available.
I've had several of these throughout the years, and they were significantly more user-friendly than the consumer versions I mentioned earlier.
You can take off the bottom of a MacBook, but beyond that you mainly just swap out parts.
Laptops have advanced—just pick a strong model and keep using it until it fails.
