I've arranged Pi-Hole on your old laptop using Ubuntu, configured your router's DNS to its local IP (192.168.2.49), and set up a Bell-powered Home Hub 3000. Despite resetting all DNS connections, the devices still bypass Pi-Hole and require manual updates. Could someone assist you with this issue?

is the laptop connected to wifi or ethernet? are other devices attempting to access the pihole over ethernet or wifi? can you review your home internet bill? does it indicate payment for the router they supplied? if yes, save yourself costs and consider purchasing your own router. the routers they offer are often unreliable.

The router isn't being charged. The laptop is linked through Ethernet and has a fixed local IP address. Devices attempting to run Pi-Hole are varied—my PC uses Ethernet while others connect via Wi-Fi.

Does the DNS configuration exist on the router? If yes, adjust it to use the PC's DNS settings.

I configured the DNS on the router. Now I don’t need to change it manually on each device—I want it to pull it automatically from the router.

I recognize that. I’m just confirming whether running it locally will make it rely on Pihole. If it doesn’t resolve the problem, then the issue likely lies with the router.

You need to enter the DNS manually on each device, typing 192.168.2.49.

If adjustments per device resolve the issue, the router might be the problem. It could be because the ISP router automatically uses their DNS server, no matter what you set. That’s just my assumption. My AT&T-provided router doesn’t even allow me to change it.

That sounds risky. I might consider an aftermarket router, but I’m uncertain about compatibility with Bell’s wireless TV boxes. I’ll reach out for more info.
