To figure out why devices aren't getting IP addresses, check if your router supports DHCP relay. If not, you might need a DHCP server or manual assignment.

The DHCP-server must have the capability to receive broadcast messages, requiring high-level network access. Simple port-forwarding isn't sufficient.

Alternatively, using a DHCP relay could function effectively.

DNS isn't required for that. You can grant access in your environment using Docker or WSL. JP

To make DHCP function, devices request a server from the network. For DNS, you've already provided the address, so they don't need to locate it themselves.

I haven't discovered any configuration or manual that lists DHCP relay support for your routers. I checked with both the AC-1200HP (router) and AC-52U (AP), but no documentation mentions enabling DHCP relay. Would you like guidance on how to check this manually?
