Thanks to the YouTube clip shared by ALG46, I managed to run Portal: Prelude RTX on an EVGA 3060 Ti XC with frame generation. The steps involved downloading the DLSS 3 Frame Generation 1.0.1.0 DLL from TechPowerUp, placing it in *YOUR STEAM INSTALL*\Steam\steamapps\common\Portal Prelude RTX\bin\.trex\ and replacing the existing nvgx_dlssg.dll. After restarting the game, it launched at 1920x1080 resolution. The experience is stable but noticeable issues arise with my 60Hz monitor—screen tearing occurs unless V-sync is enabled. On a 144Hz panel, the game runs smoothly without tearing and maintains consistent FPS support. In the video, I demonstrated different configurations using DLSS and Frame Generation across various panels. PC specifications include an overclocked i5-13600KF, 20GB DDR4 RAM, 8GB GPU memory, EVGA 3060 Ti XC, 60Hz monitor, and MSI PRO Z690-A motherboard.

I'm trying to figure out how to use this without upgrading to a 40 series. It performs just as well, which is surprising. I'm relieved it works in another game. I've been excited about FSR3 appearing in other titles. EDIT: Just wanted to let everyone know. I also think Nvidia's frame generation is superior.

It's really impressive how it functions, yes, again—thank you for the great post and for making it clear you meant well! Unfortunately, you don't have a high refresh rate monitor. You might want to consider overclocking.

Sadly I've already tried that too. Lol. I managed to get it to 72Hz, but it wasn't enough. Maybe I can ask my roommate for their 200Hz monitor to test it out. That would be nice. It worked perfectly without any tearing while streaming at 120fps to my Acer Nitro 5, which has a 144Hz display.

Sure, most 60Hz models struggle to reach much higher speeds through overclocking. I managed to boost an HP monitor up to 85Hz from its base 60Hz, which was pretty noticeable. It’d be great if someone could lend me a 200Hz unit. Also, the Nitro 5 sounds awesome!

I haven't looked at how FG runs on older series NV yet, but there is some (small) hope they can tune it to work "good enough" in future as a formal release. Is AMD's FG worse? I've only looked at one comparison and it seemed pretty solid to me. The problem with AMD's solution is that it forces FSR2 upscaling so it has a lower starting point than DLSS. As in, the FG part by itself might be equal, but held back by upscaler.

AMDs frame generation appears fine, performing well in Forspoken. I haven't tried immortals from aveum, but the issue with AMD seems to push FSR2. It felt smoother in Portal using Nvidia's than in Forspoken with FSR Frame Gen. Lol.

I used FSR3 in Forspoken with an NV GPU upon its release. Checking my earlier notes from other sources: I didn’t mention it was for a 1440p screen.

I understand. It seems you're testing everything on a 1080p screen. I believe the experience was enhanced in Portal since Forspoken doesn't work as smoothly for me.
