She's updating her computer with a Dlink dwa 582, but it keeps disconnecting from the internet on Google Chrome and other browsers. Some sites work in Steam or Discord, but I'm not sure what else to try. I've run commands like ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /renew, and a hard reset of the router, which seems to help for a while now—at least it hasn't failed for over 10 minutes, which is better than the usual 20 seconds. Restarting the PC also works.
Hardwired through Ethernet to avoid the WiFi PCIe card. When Internet functions well, it's the PCIe card; otherwise, it's software—meaning you might spend weeks questioning why Windows is behaving oddly or need to reinstall from scratch. Also, don't forget to restart and reset your modem and router, as they can also interfere with just one device.
