It seems you're referring to a time when a game stopped working with no solution, and you think it was the best moment in gaming.

DLC games are similar to Skyrim ones, but more like Adons. Small annoyances such as weapon packs seem silly and I wouldn’t invest in this kind of stuff. The Lords of the Fallen DLC with just one hour of playtime is terrible—definitely not worth paying for.

I miss the times when you'd purchase a game, bring it back to your console or PC, and just enjoy playing. Initially it was online verification, then small fixes, and now we often see people sell games that are nearly complete or charge us for only part of them.

You can still purchase the main game, but be cautious about the many versions available that add little new content.

Ubisoft is a clear example of poor DLC execution. CD Projekt Red shows the proper approach. I hadn’t realized there’s also a correct method for DLCs. My apologies for overlooking that. Yes, EA has updated its DLC policies, which is a positive change. Still, I’d prefer paying full price for a complete game rather than settling for a half-polished version at full cost. I get the value of DLCs for games like BF4—especially when they include map packs or similar perks. That way, players can upgrade weapons or other features without spending extra. In my past, you didn’t have the choice to pay to win; you had to rely on skill alone.

I also recall considering that I wouldn't be purchasing a BF: Hardline.

I usually pick up GOTY versions whenever possible. I remember getting Fallout 3 base game at launch as a retail item, and then purchasing the GOTY edition on Steam for under five pounds.

Depends how it's done rather than just being all bad. Battlefield 4 is 2 years old and is still going strong thanks to dlc. Borderlands 2 dlc is also very good. If it lengthens the games life then fine, but dlc that is prepared even before a games release is total shit.

Yeah do that also mainly. But in this case it would be so dumb. Because then there isn't player's any more when they decided to put GOTY out...
