Division 2 FPSdrops
Division 2 FPSdrops
Hello everyone, I've observed FPS drops in Ubisoft titles like Division 2 and Far Cry 5... other games run perfectly without any interruptions. It's locked at 60 FPS. Is this an issue with these two games? Or could it be due to incorrect settings? Other games perform smoothly just on those two, while I experience some instability otherwise. I'm playing at 4K 60 and graphics set to high on both systems.
I've encountered the same issue with The Division 2. I'm trying to connect for notifications when someone shares a solution or idea. This causes my score to drop from 110-130 to around 90 for a few minutes, then bounce back up to 110-130 at 1080p Ultra settings.

This is entirely typical for a 2019 online open world game. Specific zones within the game often exhibit higher frame rates than others. This is quite frequent in open world titles overall.
When it happens again, observe your latency levels (if you track them). If your latency exceeds normal during this time, it might be related to internet speed or player count. However, if your latency remains stable, the issue is likely tied to the game's own performance and optimization. The next action would be to adjust certain graphical parameters to identify the problematic ones.
This is just a guess, but I recall in the initial release of the first division, volumetric fog and sky settings contributed to some FPS drops. It might be worth reducing those settings and testing in areas with higher demands. You could also try setting all your graphics to low or off to see if that stabilizes your FPS. Monitoring for significant fluctuations would help determine the best course of action.
Sometimes, even with top-tier hardware, some games still need you to fine-tune graphics or PC configurations.
